The Day That Music Cares returns on April 25, 2025. The annual day of service brings music professionals and fans together to volunteer at the local level and make a difference in their communities.
Whether you're a songwriter, a tour bus driver, a record label employee, or simply a music fan, you can make a difference in your community on The Day That Music Cares. In 2024, over 2,500 people volunteered worldwide!
Below, take a look at how you can participate in The Day That Music Cares this year.
Pick Your Act of Service
Choose a cause that matters to you and the people you will be volunteering with. You can volunteer on your own, invite a group of friends to join you, or plan an act of service for your entire company or organization to get involved.
Service activities do not have to be related to music. Volunteering at the local food bank or animal shelter, cleaning up a local park or beach, and organizing a donation drive are some examples from last year's day of service. Create Your Own Act of Service
If you'd like to create your own service opportunity for yourself or your company, start by researching local organizations and charities that align with causes your staff care about. While researching, think about the compatibility of potential service activities with the number of people in your group.
Reach out to the nonprofits you've researched and inform them you're interested in volunteering with them. Let them know the date, time, and number of volunteers. If these logistics align with the organization's volunteer needs, you've found a service opportunity!
If you're struggling to find local organizations to volunteer at, organize your own volunteer opportunity — like a beach cleanup or a clothing drive. Determine how to collect sign-ups and what materials might be needed and plan accordingly.
Pledge to Participate

There, you can share how you've chosen to serve on April 25 and how many people will be joining you. You can also share the details of service activities you've created to be featured on the website if sign-ups are open to others in your area.
