MusiCares: The Music Community's Safety Net All Year Long
As the Recording Academy's charity that protects the health and well-being of all music people, most members of the music industry know MusiCares as a safety net that offers confidential preventative, recovery, and emergency programs to address financial, medical, and personal health issues.
However, as far back as the Gulf Coast hurricanes in 2005 through the Nashville floods in 2010 and Hurricane Sandy in 2012, MusiCares has provided immediate assistance to victims of disasters.
In 2017 the charity established a relief fund to support members of the music community affected by the devastation of the recent hurricanes, and extended its services offer trauma support for those affected by the Las Vegas shootings.
Most recently, MusiCares is providing assistance to music community members who have been victims of the recent wildfires in Northern and Southern California.
