On July 15, MusiCares will launch its inaugural Support Drive, a new annual day of giving to help fund critical services for music professionals in need. Timed to rally our community and supporters, the 2025 Support Drive is a call to action to sustain the work MusiCares does year-round: providing health and human services to the people behind the music.

Everyone who donates during the Support Drive helps ensure that the people who create, shape and facilitate the music we love can keep doing what they do — without sacrificing their health or stability.

Over the past year, hurricanes across the Southeast and wildfires in Los Angeles devastated music communities. Countless professionals are still working to recover financially, mentally and physically. When crisis hits, MusiCares is often the first and only place they can turn to for help. Even without natural disasters, many in the music community face unseen hardships: inconsistent income, high healthcare costs and exhausting travel. These struggles affect not just performers, but also the crews, engineers and staff who keep the music alive.

The truth is, life in music isn't just challenging — it's often unstable in ways traditional workers rarely face, from lack of benefits or paid leave to the mental toll of the daily grind and creative burnout. The risks are real, and they're widespread.

This inaugural Support Drive offers a simple, powerful way to give back. While July 15 is the official day of action, early donations are already open and strongly encouraged. Contributions made now through the 15th will count toward the drive and go directly toward funding MusiCares' programs. You can donate now here.

MusiCares' impact speaks for itself. Last year alone, we provided 30,384 total services to the music community, including 1,762 customized care cases such as disaster relief, addiction recovery treatment, medical crisis relief and more. We also facilitated 3,324 preventive care clinic visits to help ensure the well-being of those working tirelessly behind the scenes. Additionally, through our education and support groups, we served 25,262 individuals through education and support groups, offering valuable resources to help them navigate life's challenges, both on and off the stage.

The launch of this fundraiser marks a turning point in MusiCares' efforts to raise consistent, reliable funding. For decades, MusiCares has responded in moments of crisis, from individual emergencies to collective disasters like the COVID-19 pandemic. But the need doesn't disappear when the headlines fade. This drive is about building sustained support so that help is always there, no matter when or why someone needs it.

With the Support Drive, MusiCares is inviting everyone — fans, industry partners and music lovers — to be part of the solution. Donating is one way to say that we see the people who are responsible for the music we love, and we care about their well-being. A donation, no matter the size, becomes part of a larger movement to protect the future of music by caring for the humans who create it.
